Glory Be by Augusta Scattergood

Gloriana faces her twelfth birthday in 1964 and struggles with the changes she sees happening around her, but while she struggles to understand the shift in her relationships with her sister--who is about to enter high school--and her best friend, Frankie, Gloriana witnesses tempers rise in a debate over a segregated public pool.

  1. I loved this book! I loved Glory, the writing, the description of the setting, everything! Of course, historical fiction is my favorite genre, but this is on the top of my favorites!****

  6. I like how she is fighting for her rights to save black people & How she is trying to have her regular traditon of her birthday but also its kinda lame to run to the libaray! She should run somewhere exciting not the Libiaray anyone goes their really. ***

  7. I like it because its very trueful and amazing! Also black kids arent bad they just our differnt skin. Its not just white poeple in our world. Also she has a good brithiday and whatever she wants she has to earn like our parents do to get us what we want!

    I loved it when Laura stood up against the black and white rule.Even though she did'nt know about it I still thought it was very heroic.
